JLS-APP – (NH4 PO3)n– is an inorganic salt made of polyphosphoric acid and ammonia. It is produced by a special process that results in a very uniform fine particle size. It also has a phase II crystalline with high degree of polymerization. JLS-APP is almost incapable of dissolving in water and completely incapable of dissolving in organic solvents.
Uses
JLS-APP has a high heat stability, which makes it very useful as a flame retardant in things like paints, polyurethanes, acrylics, epoxies, unsaturated polyesters, and flexible and rigid urethane foams. It’s used in intumescent coating, polyurethane foam, and cellulose. It’s also essential in intumescent formulations for thermoplastics.
